Although Richard Avedon's images are black and white and mine are in color, I really like his frequent use of a plain white background. Also, many of his subjects are staring right at the camera. He is one photographer Jimmie recommended I look into when I started my project, and I really like his stuff. Very interesting. You can view his work here.
