Lightbox: Free Entry Exhibition - John

Entries due by the end of the month.

Lightbox is EraGallery's juried art exhibition. Each month artists compete for one of twelve slots on our home page, which is viewed by thousands of people. EraGallery advertises its shows to a mailing list consisting of over 15,000 art galleries, collectors, and art lovers. Lightbox is the best exposure money can't buy, because Lightbox is totally free. There is no entry fee, and no commission is taken on sales.

More than just a contest, Lightbox also introduces you into a supportive community of art lovers and fellow artists. Unlike other art competitions, Lightbox's curation process provides realtime feedback and personal connections. EraGallery's visitors curate the exhibition by awarding points to the artists they enjoy. As your work earns points, you're told in realtime who appreciates your art, which pieces they like, and why. Not only does Lightbox expand your artistic network, it also serves as a powerful motivator, pushing you to progress and grow as an artist.

The points you accumulate while competing in Lightbox do more than qualify you for the monthly exhibition. The curation data Lightbox collects is used by EraGallery's Exposure search engine to connect your work with other artworks. By linking similar works together, Exposure introduces potential patrons to new art based on their established preferences, which translates to more sales. You don't even need to graduate to the main gallery, Exposure provides a second platform for you to display and sell your artwork.

All artists are welcome to participate, both students and professionals. Lightbox exhibitions do not have themes. All mediums are welcome, including photography and video. You can submit up to five pieces to each show. We ask that if you participate repeatedly in successive shows that you vary the artworks you submit. An image or video can only be submitted to five different Lightbox Exhibitions.
