New York Photo Awards by Shon-Cele kershay Rainey

Rules:

• All work must be received no later than April 25, 2011.
• There is no limit to the number of images each photographer may submit.
• All work submitted for consideration must have been produced after January 1, 2009
• Submission to the New York Photo Awards is open to all photographers over the age of 18.


• Finalists will be notified by May 5, 2011
• One winner and two honorable mention recipients will be selected in each award category
• The work of the winners and honorable mention recipients will be featured in an exclusive exhibition
  at The powerHouse Arena during the New York Photo Festival 2011 (May 11-15)
• All necessary production for the exhibition will be undertaken by the New York Photo Festival - winners will not be required to produce or ship their artwork to New York.

  Student Categories
  
  
• 1. Editorial – Single Image

Individual images on any topic for magazines, newspapers, and other periodicals, and all assigned projects.

• 2. Social Documentary – Essay
A series of 5 to 12 images from a social documentary project.


• 3. Fine Art – Single Image
Individual images resulting from personal and/or experimental work.


• 4. Fine Art – Series
A series of 5 to 12 images resulting from personal and/or experimental work.


• 5. Photographic Book
A series of 5 to 12 images from a photography book project, whether published or unpublished. .

Entry Fees:

• The entry fee for single-image submissions is $30 ($20 for students)
• The entry fee for a series of 12 images is $65 ($40 for students

• A grand prize of $5,000 will be awarded by the jury to a single winner, for best overall photograph or photo series
