The obvious answer to this question would be yes, I mean look at Ansel Adams' photos. Did he do anything else? Aside from Adams' though how do we determine what landscape is art and what is a calender photo? This is something that I have been thinking about, due to my project and due to what I want to do with photography when I graduate. It is obvious that these are not the only two catagorey's that landscapes fall into, all you have to do is look at and outdoor magazine. This is in fact where I found this artist.
Kevin Winzeler has photographed for several different outdoor wear companies as well as "Skiing Magazine". His work to me obviously falls in the in between, but leaning towards the art side of the spectrum. The work is mostly made up of sports and outdoor scenes, but it shows a very successful photographer doing something that he loves. His website is, http://www.kevinwinzeler.com/. He has different portfolios of his work displayed there as well as a short bio.
