Artist: Futoshi Miyagi

In this series of photographs Miyagi pictures himself in subtle but sentimental moments with other men.  This series portrays the struggle of being homosexual in today's culture.  When looking at these photographs they look incredibly natural, like he has known the person next to him for years.  What takes these photographs a step beyond just the image itself is the fact that he knew none of the individuals taken in the picture with him.  In fact he met them the moment they opened there door and with success was able to create these images.  He says he found most of them on Craigslist or other means via internet and advertising.  Most of the shots were done quick in these individuals own homes.  The fact that he was able to capture such touching, beautiful, and sentimental moments with a complete stranger is amazing.  I apologize there aren't more photos up here (they were hard to find on the internet) but I found out about in him a book called "25 under 25: Up-And-Coming American Photographers, Vol. 2"  Check it out.  It's a cheap book with many different styles of modern photography.
