"Dreams" Contest by Eric Powers

I found this call for entries in a future exhibition while surfing online. The contests theme is "Dreams", which they describe as "Dreams are a creation of images, ideas, sensations and emotions that occur in our conscious and subconscious mind. They can be the manifestation of our aspirations, goals, and fears both realistic and fantastic." Although this may not be specific to anyones current project in class, I thing it could be an interesting contest to look into.

The juror for the contest is Aline Smithson.

The Awards are as follows:

Juror's Selection: $300, and feature on the blog

Director's Selection: $200, and feature on the blog

2 liveBooks Website Awards: Valued at $399 from liveBooks.com

Honorable Mention Awards: 2 year membership and a three image submission to a call for entry at the Center.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Entries due: April 27, 2011

Notice of acceptance: May 6, 2011

Exhibition dates: July 29 - August 27, 2011

Public / Artists' Reception: August 5 from 6-9pm

ENTRY FEE:

Members: $20 for the first three images.

Non-Members: $35 for the first three images

Additional images may be submitted at $10 each for both members and non-members.

Applicants signing up for membership at the time they submit will receive the automatic discounted entry fee.
