When I was originally researching for projects I came across Bellocq's work. His most famous photos are of the prostitutes from New Orleans, this project was titled, "Storyville." Some of the women wore masks to shield their identity, some posed naturally and others posed mysteriously. I love this project because it shows the beauty of a hidden society.
