I came across Helmut Newton through another photographers website today and was pretty blown away. His style i unique and unlike most photographers out there, especially for being a male. The photos he takes are mostly nude but what is most fascinating is the poses he chooses for women versus men. The male poses are much more objectifying and somewhat awkward. Although he selects body parts to focus on for many of his photos and the women seem a bit uncomfortable, he photographs them in a very beautiful light showing form, which is of interest to me in my current project. I also really like how richly toned all of his photographs are especially for all of them being black and white, they don't blend together. The poses and settings he chooses will be kept in my mind for the remainder of my project.
