Photography by Richard Renaldi By Sara Moore

Richard Renaldi was born in Chicago in 1968. He received his BFA in photography from New York University in 1990. Exhibitions of his photographs have been mounted in galleries and museums throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe. In 2006 Renaldi's first monograph, Figure and Ground, was published by the Aperture Foundation. His second monograph, Fall River Boys, was released in 2009 by Charles Lane Press. Renaldi's most recent monograph Touching Strangers, is to be released by the Aperture Foundation in the spring of 2014. Renaldi is starting to really rise through his most recent Monograph, Touching Strangers.  This book will be released in the Spring of 2014.  Renaldi has strangers come together in an intimate setting to get their picture taken.

Here is a video of Richard Renaldi in action:

Below are a few pictures of Renaldi's work for Touching Strangers:

I was introduced to this artist by my professor last year and have really fallen in love with his work. It really surprises me how one person can get complete strangers so close together for a photograph.  You can find more of his work on his website.  The link is below:
